The product itself

No. Testly Thyroid gives you a deeper view of your thyroid health than a standard panel — but it doesn't replace your doctor. Every report is designed to be a starting point for the conversation, not the end of it. We recommend discussing your findings with your doctor, and if anything in the report suggests urgent attention, we say so directly.

Your blood: Four markers — TSH, Free T3, Free T4, and Anti-TPO Antibodies.

Your genetics: Seven single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the genes that regulate how your body converts, transports, and responds to thyroid hormone — including DIO1, DIO2, MCT10, TSHR, THRA, FOXE1, and PDE8B.

You also fill out a questionnaire about your treatment history, symptoms, and lifestyle.

A standard thyroid panel ordered through a doctor tells you your blood values in isolation — "here are your numbers." Testly Thyroid does that, plus it analyzes your genetics, folds in your symptoms, and combines all three into a personalized report that explains what the numbers mean for you specifically. Most labs ordered through a doctor don't look at thyroid-related genetics at all.

Very. The kit uses a button-activated collection device that fills a small sealed tube with the exact volume the lab needs. Your sample arrives in liquid form and is processed into plasma — the same type of sample you'd get from a blood draw at the doctor's office.

The collection experience

No. Testly Thyroid uses a small at-home collection device that activates with the click of a button. Most people say they barely feel it — and there's no needle for you to push.

It's very difficult to "mess up" — the device measures the volume for you and the tube seals the sample from contamination. If your sample is ever rejected at the lab (rare), we'll send a replacement kit free of charge.

Sunday through Thursday only. Our labs don't process samples on weekends. If you accidentally collect on Friday or Saturday, refrigerate the sealed sample and mail it Monday morning — it'll be processed normally.

The report and what to do with it

A personalized, longitudinal read on your thyroid health — combining your blood values, your genetic profile, and your symptom history. Reports are delivered online at app.testly.so and as a downloadable PDF.

That's exactly what it's designed for. Every report ends with a "What to discuss with your doctor" section. The report is built to hold up in the exam room — every finding is grounded in peer-reviewed research and reviewed by our Medical Director. Bring it. If your doctor pushes back, you have the citations.

The report is designed to give you clarity, not alarm. It explains what the findings mean in context, and it directs you to bring the information to your doctor — or to seek medical attention if a finding is urgent.

Privacy and data

Only you and the Testly team, for the purpose of generating your report. Never sold. Never shared with insurers. Never used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Your sample is destroyed after analysis. Only the data needed for your report is retained, and it's yours — request deletion at any time.

Pricing and insurance

Testly Thyroid is $99 for your first month, then $149 a month after that. One kit per month, twelve kits a year. Shipping, lab processing, and your personalized report are all included. We recommend testing every month, but you're free to skip up to 90 days between kits if you prefer a more quarterly cadence — directly from your account, any time.

Not currently. Testly Thyroid is not currently HSA/FSA-eligible. If that changes, we'll update this answer.

No — Testly Thyroid is direct-to-consumer. We don't bill insurance.

If your kit arrives damaged, we'll send a replacement at no charge. If your sample is rejected at the lab, we'll send a replacement kit. We offer a money-back guarantee on unopened kits — see our refund policy for the full terms. You can cancel from your account at any time.

Cadence and subscription

Monthly is our default cadence because blood chemistry moves on a monthly rhythm. That said: we recommend testing every month, but you're free to skip up to 90 days between kits if you prefer a more quarterly cadence. Manage your skip directly from your account, any time, for any reason.

No — your genetic profile is a one-time baseline. Repeat cycles include the blood panel and an updated questionnaire. Each report builds on your previous ones — so you get a longitudinal picture, not a series of disconnected snapshots.

Yes. Cancel from your account with one click. If you cancel mid-cycle, you'll still receive the kit and report you've paid for — we just won't bill you for the next one.
